Job summary

IMIA, LLC is seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our shop fabrication team in Portsmouth, VA. You will operate CNC water jet and plasma cutting systems to produce components meeting naval specifications and industry standards.

The ideal candidate reads naval blueprints, sets up layouts, and maintains high accuracy while ensuring a safe work environment. Join a fast-paced shop with emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Water Jet and CNC Plasma Cutting Machines to produce parts per specs.
• Read naval blueprints and set up cutting paths and tooling.
• Load/unload materials with appropriate handling equipment.
• Monitor quality using calipers or tape measures; perform in-process inspections.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machines; report issues to supervisor as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, organized workspace.
