Job summary

IMIA, LLC in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a Router Operator to run a CNC 5-Axis router for shaping components used in hull treatment installations on Navy submarines. The role requires a learning mindset, dependability and the ability to think critically.

You will program and supervise router operation, read drawings and manuals, and maintain safety and quality standards while operating in a shipyard environment; shift work and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and operating CNC milling equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion 360.
• Previous shipyard/mfg/industrial experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC 5-Axis router to cut complex shapes.
• Program and oversee CNC router operation, run calibration tests.
• Read and interpret manuals, safety rules and procedure documents.
• Maintain a clean work environment where coatings work is performed.
• May prepare molds and templates for hull treatment materials.
