Job summary

Top Echelon LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Operator for a precision manufacturing client in Connecticut. You will operate VTLs, read blueprints, monitor quality, and maintain safe, efficient production across shifts.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years CNC operator experience, HS diploma, and ability to inspect parts with calipers and gauges. Aerospace/manufacturing exposure and strong math skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CNC operator experience, preferably operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing or aerospace machining experience preferred.
• Ability to operate CNC turning equipment independently while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control throughout the machining process.
• Monitor all machining operations to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Inspect and measure in-process and finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously when assigned.
• Report equipment malfunctions or production concerns promptly to the direct supervisor.
• Follow all standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members across all shifts.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, including checking oil levels, coolant, and routine cleaning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Detect and immediately report defective materials or questionable conditions to the VP of Operations.
• Complete additional duties assigned by management.
