Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking an experienced CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Operator in Barkhamsted, CT. This full-time, on-site role focuses on operating CNC VTLs, maintaining strict quality control, and meeting customer specifications.

Responsibilities include first-piece, in-process, and final inspections, recording production data, and promptly reporting any equipment issues. Requires at least 2 years of CNC experience and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC operator experience, preferably operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical documentation.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers.
• Knowledge of basic machine maintenance procedures.
• Strong English communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control throughout the machining process.
• Inspect and measure in-process and finished parts using precision instruments.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Report equipment malfunctions or production concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain production records and documentation.
• Follow SOPs, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
