Job summary

Atlas Fibre in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Tool Crib Manager to oversee tool and equipment inventory and control. You will issue tools to production, track check-in/check-out, and coordinate tool maintenance and calibration to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires knowledge of hand and CNC tooling, strong organizational skills, and effective cross-department communication to support manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Tool Crib operations, inventory control, or manufacturing support experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, machine tools, and industrial equipment.
• Proficient in using Zoller System Tool Management System, Tools Balancers and Redo Matic Equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service to production staff.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to production and maintenance personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of tool check-in/check-out and update inventory management systems.
• Inspect tools and equipment for wear, damage, or calibration needs; arrange for repair, replacement, or reconditioning.
• Store tools in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization for easy access.
• Monitor tool inventory and notify supervisor of shortages or reorder needs.
• Assist in conducting periodic inventory counts and audits of tools and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized tool crib environment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting ways to enhance tool crib efficiency and cost control.
