Job summary

Scnteam is seeking a Sales Application Specialist to cover Southern California. You will develop and support manufacturing customers, identify machining challenges, and collaborate with distributors to grow the business.

Ideal candidates have strong CNC machining and metalworking knowledge, experience in applications engineering or manufacturing engineering, and excellent communication skills. Travel within Southern California is required to serve end-user accounts and partners.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC machining, metal cutting, and manufacturing processes knowledge.
• Experience with CNC machine tools, cutting tools, programming, and applications engineering.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support manufacturing customers throughout the Southern California territory.
• Call directly on end-user manufacturing accounts to identify machining challenges and new opportunities.
• Work through and alongside industrial distribution partners to develop business and support customers.
• Provide technical support and product recommendations related to cutting tools and CNC machining applications.
• Conduct tooling evaluations, test cuts, troubleshooting, and process improvement activities at customer facilities.
• Help customers improve productivity, tool life, cycle times, and overall machining performance.
• Develop relationships with machinists, programmers, manufacturing engineers, production leaders, purchasing personnel, and other key decision-makers.
• Identify new business opportunities while supporting and growing existing customer relationships.
• Collaborate with distributor sales representatives on joint customer calls and territory development.
• Maintain a strong understanding of customer applications, competitive products, and market activity throughout the territory.
