Job summary

Phillips Staffing is seeking a skilled Studer Grinder Operator for our client in Spartanburg, SC. You will set up and operate Studer cylindrical grinding machines and read complex blueprints to ensure exact dimensions.

The role requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Studer or similar CNC grinders, familiarity with WinMax or similar software, and the ability to inspect parts with precision measuring tools. Shift is 1st: 4:00 AM – 2:10 PM, pay $24–$27/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience operating Studer or similar CNC cylindrical grinding machines.
• Experience using WinMax or similar software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, stage drawings and job orders.
• Experience machining parts to extremely tight tolerances (+/- .0001").
• GD&T interpretation skills and proficiency with measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Studer cylindrical grinding machines.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Conduct in-process inspections using air gauges, micrometers, calipers, height stands and other precision tools.
• Troubleshoot and adjust to maintain quality and productivity.
• Follow SOPs, RAMs and health & safety rules for machining operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements.
