Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor in Elgin, IL to lead day-to-day CNC operations. You will supervise shop staff, set up CNC milling and lathe work, and coordinate priorities to meet on-time delivery while supporting safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of CNC experience and at least 4 years in supervision, with familiarity in Fanuc controls and blueprint interpretation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CNC programming or editing experience preferred, with knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls.
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Supervise machine shop employees to ensure efficient operations, quality workmanship, and adherence to production schedules.
• Set up and operate CNC milling and CNC lathe machines while providing technical support and guidance to team members.
• Coordinate production priorities and communicate effectively with other shifts to meet delivery requirements.
• Enforce workplace safety standards and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
• Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts within the machine shop.
