Job summary

TekPro Engineering is seeking a 2nd-shift CNC Operations Supervisor in the western Chicago suburbs. You will lead and mentor an experienced CNC team, align priorities with 1st shift, and drive safety, quality, and throughput on a nightly basis.

Ideal candidates grew from CNC machinists or setup roles into leadership, with hands-on CNC milling/turning and strong problem-solving abilities. This role offers a stable, direct-hire path in a precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading CNC machinists in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expertise with CNC milling and turning.
• Proficient in setups, tooling, blueprints, tolerances, and precision processes.
• Proven leadership of machinists or skilled manufacturing teams.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or tight-tolerance work is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor CNC machinists and production staff on 2nd shift.
• Own daily priorities: schedules, machine assignments, staffing, and workflow.
• Track and improve KPIs: productivity, quality, scrap, and downtime.
• Provide hands-on support for machining challenges and production issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, programming, quality, maintenance, and planning.
• Maintain shift-to-shift communication and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Coach, train, and develop team members while maintaining accountability.
• Drive continuous improvement for safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
