Job summary

Pacific Bearing Co. in Illinois is seeking a skilled CNC Setup Technician to join our precision machining team. You will set up CNC mills and lathes, install tooling, verify first-piece quality and maintain process accuracy across runs.

Preferred candidates bring Tool and Die experience and strong readings of blueprints, tight tolerances, and precision measurement equipment. Safety and quality are emphasized in our manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up CNC mills, lathes or multi-axis machines.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings with tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret inspection requirements and fixtures.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments and gauging.
• Tool and Die experience preferred and beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints; understand offsets and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines for production by installing fixtures and tooling.
• Load or verify programs and adjust tooling for accuracy.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections with measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling and setup issues to minimize downtime.
• Support operators during runs and document setup details.
• Monitor tool wear, machine performance and process consistency.
• Follow safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
