Job summary

PBC Linear Bearings is seeking an experienced CNC setup specialist to prepare mills and lathes, install fixtures, load and verify programs, and set tools for production. You will read blueprints, apply offsets, and conduct first-piece checks to ensure tight tolerances.

Expect to diagnose issues, optimize processes, and coach operators during runs while maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC setup experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements to setups.
• Proven ability to set up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines and maintain tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CNC mills and lathes by installing fixtures, loading/verifying programs, and setting tools for production.
• Run and validate first-piece parts; perform in-process checks with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
• Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, and setup issues to cut downtime and improve throughput.
• Coach operators during runs and provide clear direction.
• Complete accurate setup sheets and production records.
