CNC Set Up Technician
Job Details: Job Location: W.A.F. - Crookston, Crookston, MN 56716 | Position Type: Full Time | Salary Range: $25.00 - $34.00 hourly.
WAF – Crookston is seeking an experienced CNC Set Up Technician to join our Machine Shop team. In this highly skilled, hands‑on role, you will set up CNC equipment, troubleshoot machining issues, and help ensure quality parts are produced safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC mills and lathes for production runs.
- Install tooling, fixtures, and program offsets.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Perform first‑piece inspections and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with operators to achieve quality and productivity goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Help drive continuous improvement throughout the Machine Shop.
Requirements
- Associate degree in machining or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of machining and setup experience.
- Good communication skills.

Physical Demands
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Regular lifting of materials or tooling, up to 50 lbs.
- Use of hands and arms for fine motor tasks such as installing tooling, aligning fixtures, and using precision instruments.
- Required use of PPE: safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, and hearing protection.
