Job summary

Responsibilities include tool sharpening, oil changes, safety compliance, and accurate production data recording. The role requires basic machine shop practices and ability to work under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic machine shop practices to operate and set-up CNC lathe(s), CNC machining centers, milling machines, radial drills, and light drill presses.
• Ability to read shop drawings and blueprints prepared by engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and install tooling for standard parts production as directed to fill orders. Retrieve tool sets and set up machines.
• Operate machine after setup and verify first pieces for conformance to dimensions and quality.
• Operate or instruct others in proper operation/set-up of machines.
• Select, remove, and replace indexable inserts and sharpen cutting tools.
• Make minor CNC program adjustments, including geometry and tooling offsets.
• Change cutting oils and lubricate machinery; use guards to prevent injury.
• Care for hand tools and tooling related to assigned machines; store as directed.
• Record production information as directed.
• Observe safety procedures and keep work area neat and organized.
