Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints and instructions with limited supervision.
• Familiar with G & M Codes and how they are used to edit programs.
• Ability to verify parts using quality measuring devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lean and reach.
• Able to run manual equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews drawings, blueprints, sketches, manuals or sample parts to determine sequence of operations and setup requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines; checks functionality and performance.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angles).
• Inputs or retrieves program code from machine and network.
• Performs first piece inspections and in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
• Changes tooling and offsets to ensure tolerances and specifications are met.
• Performs routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Completes routing sheets and time sheets.
• Confers with supervisors and engineers to resolve machining issues.
• Maintains production levels according to standards.
• Follows safety procedures and company policies.
