Job summary

Dowding Industries, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring high quality and safe production. You will read blueprints, measure parts with micrometers, and maintain tooling and equipment.

The role involves inputting CNC programs, performing routine maintenance, and working with multiple machines. Candidates should have overhead crane experience and strong communication skills, in a leading Michigan metal fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Set-up and operate CNC machines.
• Read blueprints and use micrometers for measurements.
• Edit and input G-code programs.
• Know production materials used in manufacturing.
• Experience operating an overhead crane.
• Strong communication skills in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set-up computerized CNC machines for production runs.
• Input control instructions into CNC equipment.
• Replace worn tooling with new tools.
• Take precise measurements of parts and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep machines in good condition.
• Operate three or more machines with minimal assistance.
• Other duties as assigned.
