Job summary

SIS Composites in Canton, GA is hiring for an experienced CNC setup/operator. You’ll independently set up and run Haas/Smart mills and lathes, interpreting blueprints and GD&T, and making on-the-fly program and parameter adjustments to keep production moving.

We value hands-on machinists who can verify first articles, troubleshoot routine issues, mentor operators, and document setup steps. Weekend overtime may be available based on demand.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC experience with independent setups.
• Deep knowledge of at least one machine family: mills, lathes, or routers.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T; interpret CNC programs and setup documents.
• Knowledge of tooling, workholding, offsets, cutting parameters, precision measurement, and safe prove-out.
• Clear communication and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC equipment with complete ownership of tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets.
• Prove out approved programs and inspect initial parts before production.
• Run production, monitor part quality and tool condition, and troubleshoot routine issues.
• Make authorized program and cutting-parameter adjustments; create simple programs at the machine when needed.
• Guide operators on job requirements, maintain setup documentation, and escalate complex challenges.
