Anderson Express is seeking a CNC Setup & Process Optimization Machinist to join our shop in Muskegon, MI. You will set tools, touch off offsets, run changeovers, and coach operators for fast, accurate production. You’ll measure parts with calipers and micrometers and log time precisely.
Requirements include 2–3 years CNC operating experience and a high school diploma. Strong math and communication skills are essential; GD&T interpretation and basic CNC programming (G-code/M-code) are expected;
You arrive to a clean, organized cell, pull up the latest print, and begin dialing in tool lengths and offsets. A changeover is due—fixtures are swapped, the next program is queued, and you coach an operator through safe loading and unloading. Mid-cycle, you inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, confirm critical features with pin/thread/ring gages, and log job time accurately. When a tool shows wear, you replace it before downtime hits. By shift’s end, you’ve reduced scrap, kept the spindle cutting, and shared tips that make the entire team faster and more accurate.
