Job summary

The Dixon Group in Houston, Texas is seeking a CNC Operator to set up, prove out, and optimize multi-axis CNC lathes and mills using Fanuc and Mazatrol controls. You will ensure productivity while maintaining strict adherence to drawings and minimizing scrap.

We require a High School diploma and 5+ years of CNC experience, with a strong focus on tool handling, first-run inspections, and safe operation. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on CNC setup and operation experience.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings and editing G-code/Mazatrol programs.
• Familiar with Fanuc and Mazak Mazatrol controls preferred.
• Ability to stand for shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machines by loading tools and fixtures and verifying coolant routing.
• Inspect first-run parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges against drawings.
• Complete initial checks and obtain second-signature verification before release.
• Isolate non-conforming materials and identify root causes with operators.
• Ensure setup carts have fixtures, gauges, and process sheets ready.
• Review process sheets and report discrepancies to engineering.
