Job summary

VetPowered, LLC in San Diego, CA, is seeking a CNC Set-Up Machinist/Operator to independently set up and run Haas and FANUC CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components per drawings and tolerances.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of CNC experience, proven ability to prove out programs, read drawings with GD&T, and maintain safe, organized 6S work areas while meeting delivery requirements. This full-time role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years CNC machining experience.
• Hands-on experience with Haas or FANUC controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with first-piece inspection and setup documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups on CNC mills and lathes, verify programs, select tooling and establish offsets.
• Set up Haas CNC machines and FANUC controls, load programs, verify tool paths, and document changes.
• Operate CNC equipment while monitoring cycle performance, tool condition, and part dimensions; perform in-process inspection.
• Follow AS9100 quality procedures, complete setup sheets and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe 6S work area and report maintenance needs.
