Job description

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a CNC Setup Machinist - 3rd Shift

The rate for this position is $26.50–$29/hr + $2.50/hr shift differential. Third shift hours are 11:00pm–7:00am.

Relocation assistance will be provided. This position offers a sign‑on bonus of $3,000 (less applicable withholding).

What you’ll do:

• Properly set tools in required machine locations and perform part changeover, including program retrieval and input
• Establish work offsets (G54, G55, etc.) manually and using probing technology
• Read, understand, and reset CNC machine program codes
• Calculate and input axis coordinates for CNC machines up to 3 axes or use spindle probe to determine work offsets
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing results to make adjustments to work offsets
• Operate selected machines through the remainder of the production run while ensuring quality parts from the work cell

Bonus terms

• Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only.
• Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.
• Associate must be employed at the time of the payout.
• Bonuses will be paid in two installments: $1,000 (less applicable withholding) in the first paycheck; remaining $2,000 (less applicable withholding) after six months of employment.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a manufacturing or operations environment or equivalent education.
• Minimum of one year experience setting up CNC lathes and/or mills.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for this position for immigration sponsorship or support.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position; only candidates residing within 50miles of North Charleston will be considered.
• Position requires access to export‑controlled information; applicant must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree in manufacturing, machining, or a related field.
• Experience with CNC or conversational programming.
• Experience operating a variety of manual machines (lathes, mills, jig bore, grinders, etc.).
• Able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches, including proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
• Able to perform basic shop math.
