Job summary

Oculus Group in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Machinist with a Tool & Die background to independently set up and machine large, complex components in a low-volume, high-mix environment.

You will set up and operate VMCs/HMCs and boring mills, read blueprints, apply GD&T, and troubleshoot to ensure part quality. This role requires strong independent setup skills and familiarity with Fanuc controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform complex CNC setups independently.
• Experience with large weldments or heavy machining.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls preferred.

• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Perform precision setups using probes, indicators, edge finders, and tool setters.
• Adjust work offsets (G54), G-code/M-code, speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and verify part quality using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 PM–6:00 AM
