Zusammenfassung

Laborup is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to own complete setups on second shift. You will read blueprints, load tooling, prove out first articles, and adjust programs at the machine to deliver high-precision components for aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and medical industries.

You will work with advanced turning centers, including live tooling and Y-axis capabilities, within a shop that emphasizes precision and technology.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of CNC lathe setup experience in a precision machine shop.
• Ability to independently perform complete CNC lathe setups from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of CNC turning processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and workholding.
• Experience reading G-code and making basic CNC program edits at the machine.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience machining tight-tolerance components and performing first-piece inspections.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments without constant supervision.
• Comfortable working independently on second shift.

Aufgaben

• Set up and perform turning operations including facing, boring, threading, grooving, drilling, and contouring.
• Work with live tooling and Y-axis machining capabilities on complex components.
• Troubleshoot tooling, dimensional, surface-finish, and machining issues.
• Inspect first articles and finished components using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Make adjustments to feeds, speeds, tooling, and offsets to improve machining performance.
• Maintain tight tolerances while machining a variety of metals and engineered materials.
• Take ownership of assigned machines, setups, and production quality throughout the shift.

We're looking for experiencedCNC Lathe Setup Machinistswho can confidently own the entire setup process — from reading blueprints and G-code to loading tooling, setting offsets, proving out first articles, and making machine-side program adjustments before releasing jobs into production.

This is a hands-on setup role, not simply a machine operator position. You'll work with advanced CNC turning centers, including live tooling and Y-axis capabilities, in a precision manufacturing environment.

Compensation:

• $35-$41/hour(based on experience)

Schedule:

• 2nd shift: Monday–Friday: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
