Job summary

CoorsTek is hiring for a CNC Set-Up I on the 841 Midnights weekend shift (Fri/Sat/Sun, 6p-6a) in Oak Ridge, TN. You will load and adjust preset CNC programs, operate machinery, and ensure quality via in-process inspection.

The role requires basic maintenance, material handling, and teamwork in a safety-focused environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent), 3 years of relevant experience, and the ability to read and follow instructions, perform math, and use CAD/CAM/G

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Three years of relevant experience.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; strong math and computer skills.
• Learn and use CAD/CAM, G-code programming, GD&T and SPC.
• Attention to detail and good listening skills; works with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Download preset CNC programs and adjust to direct machine operation.
• Operate CNC equipment to produce acceptable product per work instructions.
• Inspect parts for defects and report deviations.
• Perform basic machine adjustments (offsets, tapers) and basic preventive maintenance.
• Stack and transport product using hand-truck, pallet jack, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Keep work area and equipment clean.
• Wear required PPE in designated areas.

Job Title CNC Set-Up I - 841 Midnights (Weekend Shift Fr/Sat/Sun- 6p-6a)

Responsible for loading and making minor adjustments to preset CNC programs and operating manufacturing machinery to produce acceptable product. Works within a team environment to meet departmental goals. Maintains work area cleanliness.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machinery set-up function by downloading preset CNC programs; make minor adjustments to CNC programs to direct sequence of machine operation.
• Operate CNC manufacturing equipment to produce acceptable product per work instructions.
• Inspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results and notify appropriate person of deviation when needed.
• Perform basic machine adjustments such as off-sets or setting tapers and basic preventative maintenance such as changing coolants, filters, etc.
• Stack and transport product via hand-truck, pallet jack, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment.
• Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory.

Job Requirements

• Shift: Weekend Shift Nights: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00pm - 6:00pm 12 hour shifts
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Experience: Three (3) year relevant experience
• Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions; Intermediate math (algebra, geometry) and computer skills; Ability to learn, understand and utilize CAD/CAM programs and G and M codes; Ability to understand and use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC); Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills; Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Target Hiring Range

• Hourly: USD 20.57 - USD 27.16
• Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
