MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking a CNC programmer to create and refine instructions for CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, writing and testing code, and adjusting speeds and feeds for quality production. First Shift.

Major duties include machine setup, testing and optimization, troubleshooting, and modifying programs for different machines or runs, ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

Qualifications

• Blueprint reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Mastercam software proficiency: Experience using CNC programming software is essential.
• Machining knowledge: A strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and machine speeds/feed rates.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with CNC machines, often gained from working as a machine operator.

Responsibilities

• Programming: Develop and write code for CNC machines based on technical drawings and design models.
• Machine setup: Determine the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates for each program.
• Testing and optimization: Run and test programs, then fine-tune them for efficiency and accuracy.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix problems that arise during the manufacturing process.
• Modification: Update and modify existing programs for different machines or production runs.
• Quality assurance: Ensure the finished parts meet precise specifications and maintain quality standards.
