Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our growing industrial machinery parts manufacturing team in Michigan, including Saint Clair Shores. You will program, set up, machine, inspect, and optimize parts with a focus on quality and efficiency.

You will read complex drawings, perform CAM programming, and work both independently and with a team to meet tight tolerances and deadlines in a climate-controlled shop environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years conventional and/or CNC machine operating experience.
• 3+ years CNC CAM programming experience.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, program sheets, specs, and work instructions.
• Program, set up, and perform changeovers on CNC equipment.
• Perform precision turning, milling, drilling, boring, and related machining operations.
• Maintain close tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Inspect and gauge parts throughout machining process.
• Measure finished workpieces for conformance to specs.
• Run multiple machines simultaneously when applicable.
• Keep machines, tooling, and work areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with CNC team to solve problems and keep jobs moving.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Description

We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist who takes pride in getting the job done right. You'll be hands-on with programming, set-up, machining, inspection, and problem-solving in a clean, climate-controlled, old-shop feel facility where your experience and technical judgment matter. If you can look at a complex drawing, understand how to machine the part, and turn that into a quality finished part, this might be the right fit for you.

What You'll Do
