Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join its on-site manufacturing team in Troy, MI. This role involves hands-on programming, setup, machining, inspection, and problem solving within a climate-controlled shop.

You will interpret drawings, program and changeover CNC equipment, and maintain strict tolerances while delivering precision parts. A strong work ethic and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of conventional and/or CNC machine operating experience.
• 3+ years of CNC CAM programming experience.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Excellent attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
• Physical requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex drawings, program sheets, specifications, and work instructions.
• Program, set up, and perform changeovers on CNC equipment.
• Perform precision turning, milling, drilling, boring, and related machining operations.
• Work to close and interrelated tolerances while maintaining demanding quality standards.
• Inspect and gauge parts throughout the machining process.
• Measure finished workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Run multiple machines simultaneously when applicable.
• Maintain clean machines, tooling, work areas, and finished parts.
• Work collaboratively with the CNC team to solve problems and keep jobs moving.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and getting the job done right. This isn't simply a machine operator position. You'll be hands‑on with programming, setup, machining, inspection, and problem‑solving in a clean, climate‑controlled, old‑shop feel facility where your experience and technical judgment matter. If you can look at a complex drawing, understand what needs to happen at the machine, and turn that plan into a quality finished part, this might be the right fit for you.
