Job summary

Tempe, Arizona-based precision machining company is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to manufacture complex, tight-tolerance components, including aerospace and defense-related parts. The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of CNC turning, geometry, insert/tool geometry, tool wear, work-holding, inspection, and process control.

This is not an entry-level CNC operator position and is not intended for someone whose primary experience consists of loading machines,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC lathe machining experience.
• Experience performing complete machine setups.
• Experience machining aerospace, defense, or similarly demanding precision components.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and machining requirements.
• Strong understanding of CNC lathe tooling and insert geometry.

Well-established and busy precision machining company in Tempe, AZ seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to manufacture complex, tight-tolerance components, including aerospace and defense-related parts.

The successful candidate must have a strong fundamental understanding of CNC turning, machining geometry, insert/tool geometry, tool wear, work-holding, inspection, and process control. This is not an entry-level CNC operator position and is not intended for someone whose primary experience consists of loading machines, changing inserts, and making basic wear offsets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC lathe machining experience.
• Strong experience performing complete machine setups, not simply operating an established process.
• Demonstrated experience machining tight-tolerance aerospace, defense, or similarly demanding precision components.
• Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and machining requirements.
• Strong understanding of CNC lathe tooling and insert geometry.
