Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop and optimize programs for CNC and Wire EDM to support high-quality metal components production. You will translate engineering drawings into precise machine instructions, set up tooling, and work with engineering and maintenance to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Experience programming CNC machinery (Fanuc controls, milling, lathes, 5-axis)
• Strong CAD knowledge with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA
• Familiarity with CAM software and toolpath generation
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints with GD&T
• Mechanical knowledge with EDM preferred
• Measuring parts with micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and CMM
• Understanding of lean manufacturing to improve workflows
• Strong math skills for feeds, speeds, and tolerances
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Work in a loud environment and stand for long periods

Responsibilities

• Program CNC & Wire EDM to create profiles for extrusion operations and maintenance
• Develop, test, and refine CNC programs for CNC lathes, mills, and 5-axis machines using CAD/CAM software
• Interpret mechanical drawings to translate specifications into machine instructions
• Set up tools and fixtures with precise alignment using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and CMM
• Optimize processes using lean principles to improve efficiency and quality
• Troubleshoot programming issues to minimize downtime and maintain schedules
• Conduct quality inspections with precision measurement tools to verify tolerances
• Collaborate with engineering to improve tooling and machining parameters
