Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a versatile CNC Programmer & 3D Designer to join our manufacturing and fabrication team in Florida. You will take concepts from digital 3D design through precision machining, toolpath generation, and finished part fabrication using CNC mills, routers, and laser cutting equipment.

The role blends CAD expertise with practical shop-floor machining, requires hands-on setup, G-code generation, and strong understanding of materials and tooling.

Qualifications

• Solid CAD design experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Rhino/Fusion 360.
• Experience generating/editing G-code with CAM software.
• Hands-on CNC milling/router and laser cutting exposure.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, materials (plastics, wood, composites, metals).
• Detail-oriented in a custom fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• 3D CAD Design & Modeling: Develop, modify, and prepare detailed 3D models and technical shop drawings for manufacturing.
• CAM Programming & G-code: Generate, simulate, and edit efficient G-code toolpaths to optimize cycle times, part finish, and tool longevity.
• CNC Milling & Routing: Set up, calibrate, and operate 3-axis/multi-axis CNC mills and CNC routers, including workholding, zeroing, and tooling selection.
• Laser Cutting & Engraving: Prepare vector/CAD artwork and operate precision industrial laser cutting systems across diverse materials.
• Quality & Tolerance Inspection: Perform dimensional checks and first-article inspections using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools.
• Shop Operations & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machine tools, troubleshoot machine or tooling alarms, and maintain an organized, safe workspace.

We are seeking a versatile and hands-on CNC Programmer & 3D Designer to join our manufacturing and fabrication team. In this role, you will take concepts and engineering models from digital 3D design through precision machining, toolpath generation, and finished part fabrication. The ideal candidate combines technical CAD expertise with practical shop-floor machining proficiency across CNC mills, routers, and laser cutting equipment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proven hands-on experience in 3D design using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, or Fusion 360.
• Demonstrated proficiency generating and editing G-code via CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360, Vectric).
• Hands-on setup and operational experience with CNC mills and CNC routers.
• Direct experience running laser cutting/engraving machines.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling geometry, and material behavior across plastics, woods, composites, or metals.
• Strong problem-solving ability, self-starter mentality, and attention to detail in a custom fabrication environment.

salary: $62,400 - $83,200 per year
