Job summary

Express Employment Professionals seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to develop software programs that direct CNC machines to cut and shape metal or plastic into precise components. You will use CAD/blueprints and CAM software to generate code, run simulations, and ensure efficient and safe machining.

The role involves analyzing job orders, reviewing CAD models, calculating material cuts, and coordinating with shop staff to optimize sequences and tooling for quality results.

Qualifications

• Experience reading rough CAD drawings and blueprints.
• Familiar with micrometers and calipers.
• Strong math and detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Job description

Express Employment is now hiring a skilled CNC Programmer to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Your job is important since some materials are not easy to shape or handle manually or with conventional equipment. You will be responsible for developing software programs that direct CNC machines to cut and shape metal or plastic to produce components for airplanes, automobiles, tools/dies/molds, andother industrial machined parts and tools. Using 3-dimensional computer designs (CAD models) and/or blueprints that define the configuration of the required component, CNC Programmers use CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software programs to generate the program code that guides CNC machines to perform machining operations which result in precise finished components – efficiently and safely.

Skills/Qualifications needed

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• 1-2 years of experience preferred
• Ability to read mics and calipers
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• Ability to learn and be taught
• High school diploma or equivalent;
