Job summary

Express Employment Professionals of Columbia is hiring a CNC Programmer to safely and accurately operate CNC machinery. You will develop CAM programs from CAD models or blueprints to guide machining of metal or plastic parts for aerospace, automotive, tools, and other components.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, calculating cut paths, selecting tools and feeds, running simulations, and improving code for efficiency and safety, while coordinating with engineers and shop staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• 1–2 years of CNC programming experience preferred.
• Ability to read micrometers and calipers.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.
• Attention to detail with a results-driven approach.
• Good communication abilities.
• Willingness to learn and be taught.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Define the best sequence of machining steps.
• Decide tools, speeds, feeds and fixtures to be used then generate CAM code.

• Communicate with programmers, shop floor management, machinists/setup and operators and engineering and sales staff to achieve this.

Job description

Express Employment is now hiring a skilled CNC Programmer to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Your job is important since some materials are not easy to shape or handle manually or with conventional equipment. You will be responsible for developing software programs that direct CNC machines to cut and shape metal or plastic to produce components for airplanes, automobiles, tools/dies/molds, andother industrial machined parts and tools. Using 3-dimensional computer designs (CAD models) and/or blueprints that define the configuration of the required component, CNC Programmers use CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software programs to generate the program code that guides CNC machines to perform machining operations which result in precise finished components – efficiently and safely.

Job Responsibilities
