Job summary

Express Employment Professionals of Neosho is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to safely and efficiently develop CAM programs that drive CNC machines to shape metal and plastic components. You will base programs on CAD models or blueprints to produce precise parts for aerospace, automotive, and tooling applications.

Responsibilities include analyzing job orders, reviewing CAD drawings, selecting tooling and cutting parameters, running simulations, testing output, and collaborating with shop

Qualifications

• Read mechanical drawings and documents.
• 1–2 years of CNC programming experience preferred.
• Read micrometers and calipers.

Job description

Express Employment is now hiring a skilled CNC Programmer to use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. Your job is important since some materials are not easy to shape or handle manually or with conventional equipment. You will be responsible for developing software programs that direct CNC machines to cut and shape metal or plastic to produce components for airplanes, automobiles, tools/dies/molds, andother industrial machined parts and tools. Using 3-dimensional computer designs (CAD models) and/or blueprints that define the configuration of the required component, CNC Programmers use CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software programs to generate the program code that guides CNC machines to perform machining operations which result in precise finished components – efficiently and safely.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze job orders
• Review CAD models and/or blueprints
• Make calculations to determine where materials should be cut
• Define the best sequence of machining steps
• Decide tools,speeds,feeds and fixtures to be used then generate program code using computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) software to capture all these decisions
• Run simulation tests
• conduct quality testing and correct/improve program code to increase efficiency, quality, andsafety;
• Communicate with other programmers, shop floor management, machinists/setup and operators and engineering and sales staff to achieve this.

Skills/Qualifications needed

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• 1-2 years of experience preferred
• Ability to read mics and calipers
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
• Ability to learn and be taught
