Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a mid-level CNC Programmer in Parsippany, NJ to join a leading aerospace manufacturing team. You will plan, program and implement production methods, develop build books, tooling and the necessary fixtures for complex multi-axis machining, including 3-5 axis mills and Swiss equipment.

You will review designs for manufacturability, support continued process improvement, and collaborate with technicians and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S. in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/Industrial Eng or equivalent with 2–5 years manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with CAD (Creo or equivalent) and GD&T drawing standards.
• Lean manufacturing techniques and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to instruct technicians, machinists, suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement production methods and cell setups for all products, including overhaul and repair.
• Plan and coordinate equipment and tooling acquisitions.
• Engage in industrial engineering practices for layout and efficient process flow.
• Develop and maintain production standards.
• CNC programming of multi-axis machining centers (3-5 axis mills, CNC lathes, Swiss, gear hobbers, etc.).
• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical problems and test failures.
• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability; write engineering change orders as required.
• Witness and evaluate acceptance tests to verify product performance and test procedures.
• Review designs for continuous improvement opportunities and manufacturability.
• Build manufacturing bills of materials from engineering BOMs.

Job Details

• Plans, develops, and implements production methods and cell set-up, including layout, routers and build books for all products including overhaul & repair.
• Plans and coordinates efforts toward the acquisition of needed equipment and tooling.
• Industrial Engineering experience related to layout and efficient process flow.
• Develops and maintains production standards.
• CNC programming of multi-axis machining centers (3-5 axis mills, CNC lathes, CNC Swiss machines, Gear Hobbers, etc.)
• Assists in the troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical problems and test failures.
• Reviews engineering drawings for manufacturability. Writes engineering change orders as required.
• Witnesses and evaluates acceptance tests on units to verify both the performance of the product and the accuracy of the test procedure.
• Reviews designs and processes for continuous improvement opportunities & manufacturability.
• Builds manufacturing bills of material based on engineering bills of material.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience with 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role; applicants with 0 years may be considered if they have relevant internships/Co-ops and coursework in aerospace manufacturing (or equivalent industry).
• Familiarity with CAD (Creo or equivalent) and GD&T drawing standards. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with hands‑on requirements. Ability to interact with and instruct a broad spectrum of people, including technicians, machinists, suppliers and customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of machining, material properties, CNC programming for multiple type CNC equipment using MasterCam and equivalent programming software, etc. as it relates to manufacture of component parts a very large plus. Gear Hobbing experience also preferred.
• Familiarity with electronics and electric circuits.
• Knowledge of electric motors and hydraulic motors, servo valves and hydraulic test equipment.
• Experience with aircraft and/or military equipment.
• Understanding of aerospace standards and requirements.
• Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems and auditing.
• Experience in FAA/EASA certifications a plus.
