Job summary

Ford is seeking a Process Engineer for the CNC machining team in Ohio. The role focuses on hands-on management and optimization of the production environment, including grinding, turning, drilling, and milling of engine components using CGI, forged steel, and aluminum.

You will collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to boost uptime and efficiency. You will lead small-scale improvement projects, use AutoCAD and 3D modeling, and apply 3D printing for rapid prototyping and

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
5+ years of engineering or plant manufacturing experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with 8D and 5Why corrective actions.
Familiarity with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS).
Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen methods.
Experience with FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs.
Proven Visual Factory Management experience.
Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience.
CNC/machining experience is required.

Responsibilities

Provide daily engineering support on the shop floor (60–70% of time) to resolve production, quality, and maintenance challenges.
Identify and lead small-scale improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve quality metrics.
Use AutoCAD and 3D modeling to design, modify, and manage drawings and process layouts.
Employ 3D printing for rapid prototyping and shop-floor tooling solutions.
Collaborate with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment failures and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor process capability to identify and eliminate waste or quality deviations.
Update process documentation including OIS and PFMEAs.
Lead root-cause analysis for quality concerns and implement corrective actions on the line.
Coordinate with Tooling Engineers to optimize tool life and performance.
Support Lean Manufacturing principles across machining.
