Job summary

Synerfac Inc. is assisting a Columbus-area client seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize CNC machining processes, design robust process flows, and support NPI.

You will troubleshoot issues, implement continuous improvement, and ensure manufacturing readiness with cross-functional teams. The role requires experience with high-volume CNC metal manufacturing, G-code programming, blueprint reading, and ERP/MRP familiarity.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or 5+ years CNC machining experience.
• Strong project management skills are required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are expected.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize machining processes for CNC turning, milling, drilling, grinding, etc.
• Design and implement robust process flows, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Select and validate cutting tools, fixtures, and equipment for repeatability.
• Conduct time and capability studies and root-cause analysis to improve throughput and reduce scrap.
• Support NPI with design, quality, and production to ensure manufacturability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
• Troubleshoot machining issues and provide technical support to production teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers and tool vendors for validation and optimization.
• Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions; ensure safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
