Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Precision Manufacturing Technician (CNC) to operate, set up and program CNC equipment, reading blueprints and ensuring components meet exact specs for rail vehicles.

You will work with engineers and production teams in a safety‑driven environment, gain exposure to CMMs and precision tools, and contribute to high‑quality manufacturing that helps connect communities across North America.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training, machining certificate, or trade school education is a plus.
  • Experience in machining, fabrication, manufacturing, production, CNC operation, or related skilled trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Comfortable using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC equipment and other precision manufacturing tools to create components used in rail transportation systems.
  • Read blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to machine, modify, and repair parts to exact specifications.
  • Use advanced inspection equipment, including CMMs, FARO Arms, micrometers, and gauges, to verify product quality and accuracy.
  • Work alongside engineers, technicians, and production teams to solve manufacturing challenges and improve processes.
  • Support a safe, organized, and efficient production environment while contributing to products that move millions of people every day.
