Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures is seeking a CNC – Plasma Cutting Machine Operator for our Clinton, IL location. The role involves operating and maintaining a CNC plasma cutting machine to fabricate metal parts, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include setting up the machine, loading materials, adjusting settings, performing test runs, inspecting outputs, and performing routine maintenance. Ability to read tape measures and use CAD nesting software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a plasma table or CNC machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CAD nesting programs.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the CNC plasma cutting machine according to drawings or program number.
• Safely load and unload raw metal materials onto the cutting table, using an overhead crane or forklift to move finished products.
• Input or download programs, adjust machine settings (speeds, gas pressures, amperage) and perform test runs to meet specifications.
• Inspect and measure finished products with precision instruments to verify dimensions and quality.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and replace worn consumables; troubleshoot issues and report major problems.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and wear PPE; ensure ventilation and grounding.
• Record production data, complete work orders, document machine activities, and coordinate with team members.
