Job summary

The Dixon Group is seeking a motivated CNC Operator Trainee for our Chestertown, MD facility. You will be trained to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, producing precision metal components while reading engineering drawings and maintaining quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. We offer comprehensive training, a safety-focused culture, and opportunities for growth with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or related coursework preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (training provided if needed).
• Comfort using hand tools and applying basic shop math.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of your shift
• A positive attitude and commitment to working safely.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on training to learn CNC machine setup and operation.
• Produce metal components according to engineering specifications.
• Learn to identify and correct basic machining issues.
• Gain familiarity with Dixon’s product lines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with your team to ensure smooth and safe production processes.
