Job summary

Kimber America in Troy, AL, is seeking a CNC Operator I to run Mills, Lathes, CNCs, and screw machines. You will perform First Piece Inspection, ensure part accuracy, and maintain quality while meeting run rates.

The role emphasizes GD&T, tooling changes, offsets, and ERP data entry. Candidates should be able to read blueprints, troubleshoot, and work with standard work procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Interpret technical prints (GD&T).
• Basic knowledge of CNC machine G-Code and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience maintaining and changing tools.
• Experience determining offsets and adjusting accordingly.
• Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment (Mills, Lathes, CNCs, screw machines) safely and to spec.
• Develop and sustain CNC methods and procedures to meet run rates and tolerances.
• Assist in fixture development and tool selection for new products.
• Create standard work, setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
• Troubleshoot tooling, code, and setup issues; implement corrective actions.
• Perform quality checks during operation using calipers, gauges and optical systems.
