Job summary

MW Components, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC operator to set up and run milling and turning processes with a focus on precision and quality. You will read blueprints, select appropriate tools, and verify tolerances using calipers and micrometers.

The role requires at least one year of CNC experience, detail orientation, and strong communication to coordinate across shifts and departments. Safety and regular maintenance are essential parts of the job.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in CNC machine operation.
  • Experience with Mills and lathes is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret part specifications and drawings.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust machines to attain specified tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring devices.
  • Plan machining from drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
  • Verify settings by measuring first-run parts and sample pieces.
  • Maintain safety and adhere to quality procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and document actions across shifts.
  • Record production and quality logs and update knowledge with training.

Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adjust the machine to attain specified tolerances.
  • Understand blueprints and be able to use a variety of precision measuring devices.
  • May work/train in other departments where needed.
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties assigned if necessary
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • Accurately read and interpret callipers, microammeters, and other precision measuring tools
  • Ability to inspect and measure parts using precision instruments (callipers, micrometeors, etc)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in CNC machine operation.
  • Any experience with Mills, lathes, CNC machines, etc. a plus.
