Job summary

ALIGN PRECISION in the United States is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to fabricate detailed parts from blueprints and verbal instructions using mills, lathes, and CNC equipment. You will set up machines, run programs, and use precision measuring tools to verify tolerances and quality.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers per complex blueprints.
  • Retrieve job routings, part drawings, tool lists, and instructions.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools and work holding for various materials.
  • Document manufactured quantities and processes in ERP system.
  • Take precise measurements to verify tolerances and inspect parts.
  • Support continuous improvement of machining processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety protocols.
  • Assist with development of new machining methods and tooling as needed.
  • Regular attendance and potential overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary:

Manufactures detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions using various computer- or mechanically controlled machine tools and equipment. Sets up and operates mills, lathes, computer-controlled equipment (CNC) machine tools, grinders, and other machining equipment using mathematical and geometrical calculations. Uses precision measuring instruments to check and maintain tolerances. Calculates dimensions using measuring instruments. Installs, aligns, secures, and adjusts cutting tools and work pieces. Monitors the feed and speed of machines. Measures and examines completed products for defects. Deburrs all surfaces of parts or products to ensure that they conform to specifications. May also perform complex and varied machining operations in prototype experimental activities. Assists engineers in design, development, and evaluation of new products and recommends product improvements or manufacturing modifications. Sets up high-complexity, unproven parts. May also set up complexity of proven parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Document manufactured quantities and all required processes utilizing ERP system
  • Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet stringent quality control standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machining efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • May assist with developing new machining methods and tooling for complex parts.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications:
  • Experience and Education:
    • 6+years of experience
    • High school degree or equivalent, plus specialized training
  • Technical Skills:
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
    • Basic computer skills
    • Problem solving abilities
    • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
    • Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
    • Understand and obey safety requirements
    • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
    • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
    • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
    • Capable of standing for long periods
