Job summary

Sun Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 2 to support the machine department on-site in California. The role focuses on machining composite hardware and requires familiarity with HAAS controls and tool offsets. The position is up to 12 months and offers benefits as described in the posting.

Responsibilities include operating various machine tools, setting up machines, inspecting tolerances, and maintaining equipment. 5-axis experience is a plus and the site is located at Structures.

Qualifications

• Familiar with HAAS control.
• Able to change and set tool offsets.
• Experience with basic CNC machining practices.
• 5-axis experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, power mills, extrusion machines, drills or punch presses, power brakes, shears or saws.
• Sets up machining machines, makes adjustments, and performs maintenance on machines.
• Checks work using gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
• Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process control or other procedures.
