Thorlabs in Newton, NJ, is seeking a CNC technician responsible for set‑up and operation of CNC machines in accordance with inch and metric drawings. You will read blueprints, select tooling, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances while following safety standards.

The role offers a 5:45am–2:15pm schedule, a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, and opportunities to work with Haas and Fanuc controls, G/M codes, and DNC systems in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar position preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNC certification is a plus.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls and G/M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set ups on CNC production equipment including milling and turning.
• Inspect finished parts and ensure tolerances using measuring tools.
• Read blueprints and geometric tolerances to verify details.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and follow safety regulations.
• Perform periodic maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
