Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ, is seeking a CNC operator to set up and run production equipment, reading inch and metric drawings and maintaining measurement tools.

You will troubleshoot dimensions, perform routine machine maintenance, and support on-time deliveries. Requires 3–5 years’ experience, HS diploma or equivalent, CNC certification is a plus, and familiarity with Haas/Fanuc controls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience.
• CNC certification or CNC Trade School is a major plus.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities

• Performs set ups on CNC production equipment (milling, turning or similar).
• Fabricates tooling and fixturing to tight tolerances per specifications.
• Reads blueprints and GD&T; understands material properties.
• Programs and operates CNC machines with Haas and Fanuc controls.
• Inspects finished parts and ensures conformance to specs.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment and equipment.
• Under supervision and with occasional responsibilities at other Thorlabs locations.
