Job summary

Norwood Medical is seeking a capable CNC Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in Dayton, OH. You will operate CNC machinery, perform offsets and tooling changes, and troubleshoot production issues to maintain high-quality parts used in medical devices.

You will read blueprints, follow routers and work instructions, and collaborate with teammates to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. A strong eye for detail and a commitment to learning are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience reading blueprints and work instructions.
  • Experience making machine offsets and tooling adjustments.
  • Knowledge of precision measurement with micrometers/calipers.
  • Ability to read shop math and apply it daily.
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Operate precision CNC equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Perform machine offsets, adjustments, tool changes, and machine startups.
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms, tooling issues, and production challenges.
  • Monitor production performance and maintain quality standards.
  • Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Read and follow routers, inspection plans, and work instructions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Collaborate with teammates to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

As a CNC Operator at Norwood Medical, you will
  • Operate precision CNC machining equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Perform machine offsets, adjustments, tool changes, and machine startups
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms, tooling issues, and production challenges
  • Monitor production performance and maintain quality standards
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, vision systems, height gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Read and follow manufacturing routers, inspection plans, and work instructions
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Collaborate with teammates to achieve safety, quality, and production goals
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
  • CNC Machining experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience making machine offsets and tooling adjustments
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work intructions
  • Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement techniques
  • Experience using inspection equipment and quality systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and desire to continuously learn and grow

Experience with medical device manufacturing, tight-tolerance machining, and advanced inspection methods is a plus.
