Norwood Medical in Dayton, OH is seeking a manufacturing team member to support CNC machining and inspection tasks. You will read routing, follow plans, and document results while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced medical device environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated longevity in previous employment (at least eight consecutive months).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Read, follow, and complete a company router and perform work as assigned by a Group Leader.
  • Execute an inspection plan using inspection equipment and document results.
  • Understand and execute part and operation specific requirements.
  • Identify and react to tool failures/stack-ups.
  • Assist with build, setup, and troubleshooting of fixtures, dies and/or special machines.
  • Complete job packages including assemblies.
  • Understand CNC machines and/or machining operations (mills, grinders, lathes).
  • Detect and report defective material or questionable conditions.
  • Perform typical machine shop operations.
  • Maintain safe working practices and a clean work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Read, follow, and complete a company router and perform work as assigned by a Group Leader.
  • Execute an inspection plan, such as a Manufacturing Inspection Plan (MIP) or inspection data sheet, utilizing standard and/or specialized inspection equipment and document results as required.
  • Understand and execute part and operation specific requirements.
  • Identify and react to tool failures/stack-ups.
  • Assist with the build, set up, and troubleshooting of fixtures, dies and/or special machines.
  • Complete job packages consisting of multiple details including assemblies.
  • Understanding of CNC machines and/or machining operations (mills, grinders, lathes).
  • Detect and report defective material or questionable conditions to a Group Leader.
  • Perform typical machine shop operations.
  • Work as a team player and communicate work related issues as needed.
  • Comply with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintain good manufacturing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
  • Able to work independently while following established machining methods and procedures to perform operations required for successful manufacturing operations.
  • Competency in advanced blueprint reading.
  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to identify differences in tool steel grades, how they are used, and how they react during machining and grinding.
  • Competency in the use of inspection equipment such as functional gauges and go/no-go gauges.
  • Intermediate knowledge of shop math.
  • Ability to generate complex conversational mill programs.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move about the facility.
