Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator in Montpelier, Ohio. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC Lathe machines while optimizing productivity and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of calipers, gauges, and other required measuring tools.
• Strong proficiency in basic math.
• Ability to accurately document machining procedures.
• Familiarity with metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling.
• Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred).
• Basic oral communication skills and the ability to read, comprehend, and complete logs and reports in English.
• Ability to handle heavy items and perform physical tasks.
• Availability to work scheduled hours and adhere to company policies.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, materials, and general mechanical principles.
• Eagerness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Lathe machines for various tasks.
• Optimize setup times and improve productivity.
• Read and understand blueprints and route instructions.
• Apply GD&T knowledge when necessary.
• Troubleshoot programs and make adjustments.
• Follow inspection protocols and report issues.
• Communicate with team members regarding quality concerns.
• Ensure safety compliance throughout the shift.
• Document issues for shift transitions.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on machines.
