Job summary

The Dixon Group is seeking a CNC Operator at our Winchester, VA facility. You will learn to set up and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality metal components, with training provided to grow skills and take on additional tasks such as laser marking or light assembly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a CNC operator or a strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn (we will train the right candidate!).
  • Familiarity with G-code programming or blueprints is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Mazak and Fanuc controls preferred.
  • Skilled or willing to learn the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong reading, math, and data entry abilities.
  • General computer proficiency.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for the full shift.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to set up and operate CNC machines (experience with Fanuc and Mazak controls is a plus).
  • Identify and resolve machining or program issues
  • Perform inspections to ensure components meet drawing and quality specifications
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Complete basic daily maintenance on machines
  • Rotate between assignments as needed to support production
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training

Work Hours: 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday

In this role, you'll learn to set up and operate CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) lathes to produce high-quality metal components that meet precise specifications.
