Job summary

Micro-Matic in San Antonio, TX is seeking a CNC operator who can set up and run multiple machines while maintaining tolerances and quality. The role requires blueprint reading, geometric tolerancing, and precision measurement with calipers and micrometers.

You will cross-train across CNC equipment and follow documented procedures to ensure safe, efficient production. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CNC setup experience, basic math skills, and the ability to work OT as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in setting up multi-axis CNCs; preferably routers, horizontal milling, and/or vertical milling machines.
  • CNC programming is a
  • Knowledge and use of precision measuring instrument, including but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, and
  • Understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing
  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
  • Must be able to cross-train and run multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Must possess basic math skills including, but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication and
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing
  • Must be available to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
  • Cross-train on all CNC equipment.
  • Performs basic math calculations.
  • Interprets dimensions on a print and loads, unloads and inspects parts while maintaining dimensional tolerances within specifications.
  • Accurately utilizes precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins and depth micrometers.
  • Detects equipment malfunctions and/or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine as required to ensure quality of production.
  • Reports machining problems to supervisor for assistance.
  • Maintains a clean work area, including equipment, and observes all safety.
  • Follows documented operator procedures including but not limited to inspection check sheets and operator notes.
  • Performs other duties as needed and
