Job summary

Borusan Pipe USA is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate and set up CNC machines in a machine shop. You will read blueprints, lay out metal stock, and measure parts to ensure tolerances while using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

The role involves crane and forklift operation, routine maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of CNC experience, strong precision measuring skills, and the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Some secondary technical school coursework preferred.
  • Two to three years experience as CNC Machinist required.
  • Three to four years experience with parts and fabrication preferred.
  • Proficiency in G-Code, M-Code, blueprint reading, layouts, calipers, micrometers, and CNC programming/setup.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and sets up CNC machines.
  • Machines parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, or grinders.
  • Lays out, measures and marks metal stock for cuts.
  • Interprets sketches to ensure a quality finished product.
  • Positions and fastens work pieces.
  • Cleans and lubricates machines and tools to remove grease and rust.
  • Keeps inventory of raw materials and alerts supervisor when stock is low.
  • Performs basic quality checks at production points using scales, micrometers, calipers and gauges.
  • Sets programs and parameters for parts to be machined.
  • Operates CNC Mill (3-4 axis) and CNC Lathe (2-4 axis).
  • Operates a surface grinder and cranes to handle parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The majority of the work is to be conducted in a machine shop. Sometimes it will be necessary to go to production work areas to take measurements on parts or equipment.

Qualifications:

A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Some secondary technical school course work preferred.

Two to three years prior experience in CNC Machinist role is required.

Three to four years of prior experience working with parts and fabrication is preferred.

Prof iciency in G-Code , M-Code , b lueprint r eading , l ayout s , usi ng calipers, using micrometers, and p rogramming CNC e quipment and s etup .

Responsibilities:

Operates and sets up CNC machines.

Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders.

Lays out, measures and marks metal stock to display placement of cuts.

Interprets sketches to provide a quality finished product.

Positions and fastens work pieces.

Cleans and lubricates machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains and foreign matter.

Keep s inventory of raw materials used for machining and alert supervisor when inventory is low, so that materials can be reordered as necessary.

Minor troubleshooting of machinery if errors while operating

Perform general maintenance of machine as required.

Sets controls to regulate machining , or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

Sets up, adjusts, and operates all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.

Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.

Operates a job crane and forklift to manipulate parts.

Inspects and measures each part created.

Monitors machinery to verify that it is operating properly and at peak efficiency.

Notifies and involves supervisor of any problems or issues that arise during machin in g .

Performs basic quality checks at the point of production using scales, micrometers, calipers and gages.

Perform tool changes, program edits, and other adjustments to machinery as necessary

Sets programs and parameters for parts to be machined.

Activities:

Operating a CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)

Operating a CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)

Operating a manual vertical mill an d lathe .

Operat ing a surface grinder.

Operating a crane to load work pieces on to the machining equipment

Other duties as assigned.
